The PhD projects proposed in the UPtoPARIS programme cross the frontiers between physics, chemistry and biology and target a topic requiring a substantial level of integration between disciplines.

The selected candidates will be hosted in one of the 9 Research Units of ESPCI Paris (UMR). The research activity is highly connected the following disciplines: Condensed Matter Physics and Material Sciences, Hydrodynamics and Physical Mechanics, Nanosciences (nanomaterials and nanophotonics), Soft Matter Physics and Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Synthetic Chemistry, Biology and Biotechnology, Neuroscience, Waves Physics, including Acoustics and Photonics.

The research projects supported by the UPtoPARIS programme will cover this broad spectrum of scientific domains, providing an excellent landscape to carry out interdisciplinary research. They will also contribute actively to five Key Enabling Technologies (Advanced Materials, Nanotechnology, Micro and Nanoelectronics, Photonics, Industrial Biotechnology)

You can see below the 9 research units of ESPCI Paris. The different labs listed represent the research axes or teams in each research unit.
